Connecting to Wi-Fi for Smart App Use (SmartClean 2000)

Although your SmartClean can be used alone without connecting to the app at all, many useful features can be unlocked by pairing it to your phone to control it via the app.

Setting a smart schedule for your vacuum is one of its best and most popular features. Your SmartClean can clean your home while you are away - but be sure to prep the floor surface area,  removing anything the vacuum might get stuck on (e.g blind cords) so it can do a thorough job without getting stuck and need manual rescuing midway!

A few things you will need to check before starting:

• Make sure the Data Roaming Access is turned on in your Phone

• Make sure the Wi-Fi in your home is currently working.

• Is your home Wi-Fi  2.4ghz? (If you are not sure you will need to check with your Wi-Fi provider. The vacuum will not connect to 5ghz Wi-Fi.)

• Make sure you are using the correct Wi-Fi  password.  When entering into the App, it will not inform you if the wrong password was entered. It will continue on as normal but will not connect at the end of the process.

• If you have dual Wi-Fi in your home, make sure both are working on the same password.  Be sure nobody in your home has changed the Wi-Fi  password!

• If your router allows you to switch back and forth from 2.4 to 5 on the router itself, make sure it is set at 2.4 for this process.

• Is the unit slowly strobing a pink color or staying a solid blue while on charging dock? If not showing a color on the vacuum, the unit needs to be charged.

Step 1:

Power off the vacuum from red switch underneath for 5 seconds.

Then power back on.  This is a full reset.

Step 2:

Open up the Tzumi Smart Home App. This is available for download on the App Store.

The app looks like this:

Step 3:

Select the Add Device button in the top right corner of the home screen

On the next page select Robotic Vacuums from the list on the left side. Then select Smart Clean 2000.

Step 3:

Enter your W-Fi Information.

Make sure you are using the correct Wi-Fi  password!

When entering into the App, it will not inform you if the wrong password was entered.

It will continue on as normal but will not connect at the end of the process

Step 4:

On the following screen will be a screen asking you to reset your device.

In the top right corner of the screen it will say EZ MODE.  Press this and change to AP MODE.

Step 5:

Press and hold the power button on top of your vacuum until you hear a double beep.

After it beeps, watch the Wi-Fi light to see if it switches from blinking rapidly to slowly.

We want it to blink slowly.

This may take a few tries so press and hold again if necessary.

When it is blinking slowly  check off the box on the page that "WiFi indicator light is blinking slowly" and the Next button will light up. Click it.

Step 6:

On the next page, select Go To Connect; this will take you to your Wi-Fi settings.

Wait for Tzumi IONVAC or SmartClean to show up as an option and select it.  (it may say 'can't connect to internet', but this is okay.)

Open the SmartHome App back up and a screen looking like the below should show up, beginning to add the device.

(if the above page doesn't automatically show, click on the blue link below the Reconnect button.)

Your  SmartClean should pair within a minute and be ready for App control and use!
