Connecting to Wi-Fi for Smart App Use (OptiMax 105)
print icon

Although your Optimax can be used alone without connecting to the app at all, many useful features can be unlocked by pairing it to your phone to control it via the app. Setting a smart schedule for your vacuum is one of its best and most popular features. Your Optimax can create a smart map of all the rooms in your home, and clean your home while you are away! Be sure to prep the floor surface area,  removing anything the vacuum might get stuck on (e.g blind cords) so it can do a thorough job without getting stuck and need manual rescuing midway!

A few things you will need to check before starting:

• Make sure the Data Roaming Access is turned on in your smart device

• Make sure the Wi-Fi in your home is currently working.

• Is your home Wi-Fi  2.4ghz? (If you are not sure you will need to check with your Wi-Fi provider. The vacuum will not connect to 5ghz Wi-Fi.)

• If you have dual Wi-Fi in your home, make sure both are working on the same password.  Be sure nobody in your home has changed the Wi-Fi  password!

• If your router allows you to switch back and forth from 2.4 to 5ghz on the router itself, make sure it is set at 2.4 for this process.

Step 1:

Start by powering off the vacuum for 5 seconds.

Then power back on.

Step 2:

Open up the Tzumi Smart Home App. This is available for download on the App Store.

The app looks like this:

Step 3:

Select the Add Device button in the top right corner of the home screen

On the next screen select Robotic Vacuums from the list, then Optimax 105.

Step 4:

Enter your Wi-Fi Information.

Make sure you are using the correct Wi-Fi  password!

When entering into the App, it will not inform you if the wrong password was entered.

It will continue on as normal but will not connect at the end of the process.

Step 5:

Place the vacuum in pairing mode by pressing down both the power and home buttons on the top of the vacuum simultaneously for 4 seconds until the vacuum says ‘AP mode”.

The Wi-Fi indicator icon above the buttons will be blinking slowly.

Tick the box on the screen confirming the Wi-Fi indicator icon is blinking slowly and tap Next.

Step 6:

On the next page, select Go To Connect; this will take you to your Wi-Fi settings.

Wait for the Vacuum to show up as an option (it can be named SmartLife or Optimax) and select it.

Switch back into the SmartHome App and a screen looking like the below should show up, beginning to add the device.

Your OptiMax should pair within a minute, announcing "Connecting To Network" and shortly after, "Wi-Fi connection successful".

Your OptiMax is now ready for App control and use!
